INTRODUCTION

Enjoy Church (EC) Pastoral Care adopts a holistic approach to healing in that we recognise that people are reflections of the character of God in that they are a trinity of Body, Mind and Spirit. Whilst Pastoral Care is not Counselling we do incorporate recognised counselling processes. We first assess the immediate need of the person which may be relief from physical effects of underlying issues i.e. stress, mental illness, etc this may require referral to medical or other support agencies. Once these issues have been dealt with we would begin the journey of healing of the mind, emotions and spirit.

Pastoral Care at EC differs from secular agencies because its primary goal is to assist people to grow to wholeness through the power of Jesus Christ, prayer and spiritual healing are essential components in the ministry we provide. Secular counselling skills and methods are used in line with Scriptural principles and Christian views.

Pastoral Care is also responsible for the sourcing, implementation and presentation of discipleship training courses such as Careforce Lifekeys STEPPS to Ministry and Cleansing Streams. Facilitator training for these courses is provided on-site at EC.

The foundational verse of our Team would be found in Isaiah 61
