what we believe

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe that the Bible is God's Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives. [Matt 24:35, 2 Tim 3:16-17, 2 Pet 1:20-21]

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. [Gen 1:1, Ps 99:9, Isa 43:10-11, Matt 28:19, John 1:1-3, 1 John 4:8]

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. [Gen 3:1-19, Rom 3:23, Luke 13:5]

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, as both God and man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. [Isa 7:14, Acts 2:22-24, 10:38-40, 2 Cor 5:21, 1 Pet 2:22]

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. [John 3:3-7, Acts 16:30-31, Rom 3:22-24]

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, and has the initial evidence of speaking in tongues. [Matt 28:18-20, Acts 2:36-38 & 10:46-47, 1 Cor 12:4, Eph 4:11-13]

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively. [Ps 103:2-4, Isa 53:4, Matt 8:16, Jam 5:14-15, 1 Pet 2:24]

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live. [Ps 139:13-18, Jer 29:11, 1 Cor 12:4-7, Eph 4:11-12, 2 Pet 1:2-3]

We believe that the Church, as the Body and visible outworking of Christ on the Earth, is the answer for the world today. It is the place of God’s habitation, the source of the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the chosen vessel through which God will advance His Kingdom. In this, each and every believer is an integral part of the Church, as they actively fulfil their individual life purpose and destiny. [1 Cor 12:27, Eph 1:22-23 & 2:22]

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. [John 3:13-18]

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised. [John 14:1-3, 1 Thes 4:15-18, Titus 2:13]
